We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

Supporting our Students
St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School Sutherland welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with parents in a wide variety of ways. Parental assistance in the classroom, creating resources, supervising on excursions, acting as officials at annual sporting events and participating in fundraising initiatives are essential and work to build positive and transparent relationships within the school community.
Parent/Teacher Communication
At St Patrick’s we believe that parents are the first and most decisive educators of their children. The school highly values and nurtures home-school relationships and strong communication. Communication with parents is facilitated in a variety of ways, including Compass app notifications and emails, parent-teacher evenings, phone calls, assemblies, newsletters, school Facebook page, open classrooms and parent forums. Parents can email their teacher to book a meeting when required. The school sends home each term a Parent Communication Link which highlights the key learning for that term. Written reports are sent home in Term Two and Term Four.
